Activities & Events

Join us in 2012 for another bigger and better season of events and programs for all ages!

2011 was a fantastic year at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Highlights included the opening of new sections of the park and a record number of free events and activities for visitors. Summer kicked off with the opening of an expanded section of Pier 6 in May and concluded with the ribbon-cutting for Jane's Carousel and the renovated Empire Fulton Ferry section. Throughout the 2011 season, the Conservancy and our program partners presented over 325 free events that kept Brooklyn Bridge Park hopping throughout summer and into the fall.

Over 70,000 park visitors enjoyed free volleyball clinics, fitness classes, the 12th Annual Syfy Movies With A View, the Harvest Festival, Met Opera recital, boating, history tours, Celebrate Brooklyn! dance parties, seining in the East River, theater, chess lessons, stargazing, and more.

Since 2000, more than 600,000 visitors have enjoyed free public programs produced or supported by the Conservancy. Each year, our number of events and attendees have grown, resulting in a larger constituency of park supporters from all over the city and around the world. In addition, we have spearheaded special programs like the Floating Pool and Beach (71,644 visitors in 2007) and the Pier One Pop-Up Park (192,000 visitors in 2008).
